Sundance 2006.1: Autumn Sweater

So, we’re here… in Park City, Utah for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Wendy, Jarod, and I arrived last night, rushed to our condo, and then rushed to festival HQ… only to find out it had just closed. So, we ventured off to Main Street and grabbed some Thai food for dinner. Within seconds, we were spotting old friends… at a nearby table was Austin’s Zellner brothers, who have a new short at the festival. At the booth behind us was Christopher Kelly from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. At the table next to us was Vanessa Carlton and Stephan Jenkins… okay, they aren’t close friends, but they were there.

Following dinner, we met up with crew from the film, Quinceanera, and had a few drinks. Then, it was off to Albertson’s for the traditional grocery-shop before the fest gets underway. Albertson’s is always a hotbed for industry folks staying at condos. In fact, our pals at indieWIRE posted this blurry photo of John Waters, doing some of his own shopping at the Albertson’s last night. Meanwhile, it was snowing pretty steady last night. Not much, but some.

Okay, we have our badges now, so it’s off to truly begin the Sundance 2006 adventure…
