Another Look at the SXSW Film Jury Competitions

The SXSW 2006 Documenatary and Narrative Competition will each feature eight World or North American Premieres, screening for festival attendees. Jam, Mark Woollen’s story of a motley crew of former roller derby legends fighting to regain their glory, will debut on March 12 at the Paramount Theater. It is part of the impressive, and extensive, Documentary Feature Competition. Other films in the Documentary Feature Competition include: Autumn’s Eyes, Darkon, Maxed Out, My Country, My Country, OilCrash, Shadow Company, and Summercamp! On March 13, Joe Swanberg’s LOL will make its World Premiere at the ACC Theater. That film, a follow-up to Swanberg’s acclaimed Kissing on the Mouth, is part of the Narrative Feature Competition. Other films in the Narrative Feature Competition include: AMERICANese, Bondage, Dance Party, USA, The Great Ecstasy of Robert Carmichael, Inner Circle Line, The Last Romantic, and Live Free or Die. Catch these films, and the rest. Then, see who wins at the annual SXSW Film Awards.
