"Russian Dolls" and "Coastlines" Join IFC's Day and Date Program

IFC Entertainment announced today that both Victor Nunez‘s “Coastlines” and Cedric Klapisch‘s “Russian Dolls” will be added to its new day and date distribution banner, IFC First Take. The two will be distributed theatrically and on demand simultaneously in May. Last January, IFC Entertainment became one of the only film studios to embrace the day and date concept and detail a broad multi-picture day date strategy. In 2006, IFC will distribute a series of twenty-four independent films allowing people outside of New York, Los Angeles, and various film festivals to view the films. Today’s announcement joins a slate of films that already includes titles such as “CSA: The Confederate States of America,” “I Am A Sex Addict,” “Three Times,” “American Gun,” and “Sorry, Haters.” IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring and IFC Films‘ VP of acquisitions Sarah Lash, negotiated with John Kochman for “Russian Dolls.” “Coastlines” was co-financed and co-produced by IFC Films. indieWIRE first wrote about the day and date program during Sundance earlier this year.
