(Film media veteran Elvis Mitchell and Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA share a cigar backstage at QT Fest on Tuesday night.)
It may have been the Opening Night of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, but Tuesday night was also the outdoor evening of Quentin Tarantino’s “Best of QT Fest” in Austin. The biker film double feature included such “classics” as Richard Rush’s Savage Seven and Jack Starrett’s Hollywood Man. The latter features an incredibly corny yet infectious theme song, and Tarantino promised in his introduction, “You may have Alzheimer’s and not remember your wife’s name, but you will remember this song!”
Joining Tarantino, Elvis Mitchell, and the RZA at the screening were such notables as Sundance Film Festival Director Geoffrey Gilmore, filmmakers Gus Van Sant and Mike Judge, John & Janet Pierson, Harry Knowles, actress Tiffany Limos (Ken Park), and many more.
