My weekly tradition of drinking coffee and reading the Sunday New York Times was made all the more entertaining thanks to this comprehensive and impressive summer movie preview, “A Season on Screen.” The Times does more than just give publicist-pleasing profiles of star vehicles like The Da Vinci Code and Over the Hedge. This preview also includes some very cool sneaks into under-the-radar films like Marcus Nispel’s Pathfinder (though it’s now been bumped to Labor Day), or a fun chat with actor (and a rare deserving movie star) Paul Giamatti. Plus, there’s a great sample of five breakthrough performances to keep an eye on this summer. Two that are truer than you may know: Alice Braga’s sexy and intense turn in SXSW 2006 title Lower City, and Zoe Weizenbaum’s mature and engaging debut in Twelve and Holding.
You should check out this summer movie preview. It’ll keep you busy for hours.
