A-B-C's (part two)

Variety reports on last Thursday’s Neilsons–trumping my expectations the Scripps Natuional Spelling Bee placed “second or third in key demos.”

(What I would look like if predicting television ratings was like a Spelling Bee)

“At ABC, its inaugural airing of the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee (8-10:11 p.m., live to most of the country) averaged a 2.5/7 in 18-49 and 8.53 million viewers overall. In the final 11 minutes, when 13-year-old Katherine Close was crowned champion, “Bee” swelled to a 4.7/13 in 18-49 and more than 14 million viewers overall.”
