I’m happy to announce that I’m moving to Atlanta.
Beginning in September, I’ll be taking over the position of exectuive director at IMAGE.
Read all about it in the AJC Atlanta’s paper of record. Registration required!
This is a return of sorts for me. In 1997, when Anne Hubbell was executive director of IMAGE, I left behind the Cinema Studies program at NYU to coordinate programming and festivals in Atlanta. It was my first paying film festival job. IMAGE gave me a valuable professional opportunity.

(The dearly missed Sarah Jacobson cops a feel in the ATL)
(Then Executive Director Anne Hubbell, Sarah, me, and programmer Charity Ellis, dancin’ for old school Hot Doughnuts Now Krispy Kremes!)
I am humbled once again by the chance to return to Atlanta. My career has come full circle–from beginner to executive director.
I hope I live up to the standards set by those who preceded me. In addition to Anne Hubbell, IMAGE’s impressive roster of former executive directors includes Linda Dubler of the High Museum of Art, Creative Capital’s Ruby Lerner, National Video Resource’s Brian Newman.
I look forward September when I’ll have a chance to meet with community leaders, sit down with the region’s filmmaking and industry professionals, and start working with IMAGE’s accomplished staff, whose dynamism, energy and creativity have positioned the organization to do great things in the coming years.
This promises to be a rewarding and challenging experience.
