Beta Touts Kraus' "Four Minutes"

Chris Kraus‘ “Four Minutes,” which screened at both the recent Shanghai Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, has closed deals in a dozen countries, according to Beta Cinema. While the company said that negotiations for a U.S. deal are reaching the final stage, they also announced pacts for distribution in Japan (Gaga), Australia and New Zealand (Madman Entertainment), and the Benelux countries (ABC Distribution / Cinemien). The film is the story of a young woman convicted of murder who encounters an aging piano teacher. In the words of an announcement, the instructor, “plans to turn Jenny back into what she was before the crime: a piano prodigy.” [Eugene Hernandez]
