In a shocking development of “BoratWatch,” Box Office Mojo is reporting that Friday’s numbers are big. And I mean, big. Many predictions had Borat finishing third or fourth, behind Santa Clause 3, Flushed Away, and possibly Saw III. Several sources suggested the film may end the weekend slightly over $10 million for the three days. Instead, on Friday, Borat grossed more than anyone else that day, with a first-place spread of nearly twice what the second-place film (S’ause 3) gobbled up. In other words, initial tracking has Borat at just over $9 million, for Friday alone. If this holds, Borat will easily end the weekend at number one. That’s crazy cool.
