IDFA 2006.3: Meet the Dockers

IDFA 2006.3: Meet the Dockers

Monday was a long and busy day. I started watching films at about 9 a.m., and didn’t let up until that evening’s dinner party co-hosted by SXSW, True/False, BritDoc, and indieWIRE. Meanwhile, back in the States, filmmakers are getting word on whether they made the cut for Sundance 2007. Announcements of the lineup will stagger out this week, as the indie-film world keeps an eye on all that develops. But, in Amsterdam, the international docmaking industry is in full force. Some new pics:

(A rare sight in The Netherlands this time of year: clear blue skies. The weather at this year’s IDFA has been notably pleasant… of course all of us chime in that it’s because of global warming, but hey, we’ll look at the positives.)

(Hanging out at the annual “Meet the Dockers” party, are ‘Black Gold’ co-director Nick Francis, ‘Wholphin’ Executive Producer Brent Hoff, and ‘Kurt Cobain About A Son’ director AJ Schnack. One bummer: no karaoke at this year’s “Dockers” party, which was a lot of fun last time around.)
