Grainy Pictures co-pres Janet Pierson and Variety film editor Dana Harris, while friends, totally by coincidence have recently begun what are already enjoyable left-of-film-centric blogs. And, I recommend with urgency that you check out both. While the authors are very much involved in the film scene, both blogs offer a unique spin on the typical “film blog.”
Janet’s blog is called “Friends Are My Artform,” and it’s really more about her life as a mom/wife/cinephile in Austin, TX. Her posts are frequent and very well-written, whether she’s commenting on a recent film she’s seen, or on the fact that her children are growing up and moving out, way too fast.
Dana’s new blog is called “The Knife,” and she describes it as “a blog dedicated to the restaurant concerns of the entertainment industry, edible and otherwise.” It’s literally just gotten off the ground, but promises to be a force in the blogosphere. Anyone who knows Dana knows two things: 1. she’s a great writer, and 2. she’s a total foodie.
Check ’em out, I think you’ll like them.
