Overture Films Acquires "Ferris Wheel"

In its first acquisition ever, Overture Films has announced at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival their purchase of all US rights to “Ferris Wheel“. Produced by Charlize Theron‘s production company, Denver and Delilah Films, in conjunction with Film Engine and NewBridge Film Capital, the film is about a young girl who forms an improbable bond with her troubled uncle in order to deal with her own mother’s abandonment. The films stars include Charlize Theron as the mother, AnnaSophia Robb as the young girl, Nick Stahl as the Uncle and Woody Harrelson and Dennis Hopper co-star. “This gem of a film is perfect for Overture Films’ first release,” said Chris McGurk, Overture Film’s CEO, and Danny Rosett, COO, in a prepared statement. “‘Ferris Wheel’ features a high quality, emotionally charged script with a talented director and a phenomenal cast that includes both Oscar winners and rising young stars. We applaud Charlize’s vision and are thrilled to be releasing this movie.” [Porter Teegarden]
