Seventh Art Releasing has announced a deal for world rights to the Slamdance ’07 feature “Over the GW“. Based on a true story, the film is described as a terrifying look into the world of corrupt drug rehabilitation clinics that prey upon teen addicts and their parents in order to build a cult.” The film stars newcomer George Gallagher. Seventh Art’s Udy Epstein, Senior VP of Acquistions Matt Henderson and VP of Production Lauren Cooper negoiated the deal late Thursday night in Park City with filmmakers Nick Gaglia and Kether Donohue. In a statement, Epstein said, “With the success of our documentary ‘Jonestown’ under our belt, we feel confident uncovering the next chapter in the history of cult phenomena in America.” He is planning to launch a New York theatrical release this Spring.
