While no one knows for certain whether Austin-lensed NBC series Friday Night Lights will even make it to a second season (that news comes in April), it may end up becoming a bittersweet proposition should the show get renewed… and then forced to move. Diane Holloway, from the Austin American-Statesman, takes a close look at the current statewide struggle to keep productions like Lights from skipping town to somewhere like New Mexico due to greater production incentives. Reports such as this give me a migraine. Hopefully, the state of Texas can find some sort of compromise in the world of tax incentives, so that Texas can hold onto more film and TV work. Ugh.
