In an unexpected, but kinda inventive, announcement today… it appears that the 2007 edition of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s Ozzfest summer tour, will be free. Gratis. Cost nothing. How will they do this? Sponsorships, of course, but the announcement hints that it will primarily involve directing user traffic to sponsors’ Web sites, in attempts to get tickets. Will it work? Will it support itself with this kind of business model? The eyes and (slightly deaf) ears of the music industry will be waiting to find out.
