"Crashing to Open 12th Gen Art Fest; New Chicago Edition to Launch in June

The New York premiere of Gary Walkow‘s “Crashing,” starring Campbell Scott will open the 12th Gen Art Film Festival on Wednesday, April 11, organizers announced Wednesday. Frank Cappello‘s NY debut of “He Was a Quiet Man” with Christian Slater, Elisha Cuthbert and William H. Macy will close the fest on April 17. Five more debuts will round out Gen Art’s format of a short then feature screening followed by an after-party at various New York hotspots including: Henry Pincus‘ “You Are Here“; David Bruckner‘s “The Signal“; Rob Stewart‘s “Sharkwater“; Mike Akel‘s “Chalk“; and Ryan Eslinger‘s “When a Man Falls in the Forest.” In other news, the fest is teaming with longtime sponsor Acura on the debut Gen Art Chicago Film Festival, which will take place June 25 – 29 with a similar format to the New York event–though spotlighting Midwest premieres. In addition, the organization said it is working with Planet Green Game on the debut of Gen Art’s Online Film Festival. Selected shorts will be available March 29 – April 13 for viewing at the online website.
