SXSW 2007 Albums Worth Your Dime

SXSW 2007 Albums Worth Your Dime

1. Tunng, Comments of the Inner Chorus
(Creepy-cool electronic folk from the U.K. Layers of oddball snippets pepper lush and driving acoustic burners.)

2. Beach House, Beach House
(Blissed-out breezy downbeat choral sunshine. If that sounds appealing at all, this album will be one of your dawn soundtracks.)

3. Deerhunter, Cryptograms
(For fans of The Knife: super-textured and loud noise pop that meanders as much as it hooks itself into your brain. They’re from Atlanta, but they sound like somewhere much colder.)

4. Nicole Atkins, Bleeding Diamonds
(She looks like Tina Fey, sounds like Regina Spektor-meets-Phil Spector. The title track on here, is classic.)

5. KB Da Kidnappa, Spitting Venom
(The Houston hip-hop scene is not slowing down, not one bit. Hailing from the Street Military crew, this is his stellar solo effort. Keep an eye and ear open, for what he’s bringing.)
