WIP Gets Green’s “Angels”

WIP Gets Green's "Angels"

David Gordon Green‘s “Snow Angels” has landed at Warner Independent Pictures with the company planning to release the movie next year. In a deal negotiated by WIP SVP Paul Federbush and Cinetic Media, Warner Independent acquired worldwide rights outside of Latin America, Spain, Mexico and a few other territories. Produced by Crossroads Films Dan Lindau & Paul Miller, as well as long-time Green producer Lisa Muskat along with Cami Taylor, the film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Stewart O’Nan. An emotional tale of love and loss, “Snow Angels” stars Sam Rockwell, Kate Beckinsale, Michael Angarano, Griffin Dunne, Amy Sedaris and Olivia Thirlby. Green talked about the film in an iW: Video segment from this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Up next for DGG is “The Pineapple Express” for Sony Entertainment, and as reported in the Hollywood Reporter he is in talks to write and direct an adaptation of John Grisham‘s “The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town,” at WIP and Smoke House, George Clooney and Grant Heslov‘s production unit.

“David is a really gifted filmmaker,” said WIP President Polly Cohen, in a statement announcing the “Snow Angels” pact, “We are excited to be working with him and look forward to a long relationship.” [Eugene Hernandez]
