Berger and Yerxa Sign Warner Independent Pact

Warner Independent Pictures has signed a two-year first look deal with Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa‘s Bona Fide Productions. The duo, producers of both “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Little Children,” are producing Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris‘ “The Abstinence Teacher” for Warner Independent, based on the forthcoming novel by Tom Perrotta (author of Election and Little Children), who will adapt the book. Their other producing credits include “Bee Season,” “The Ice Harvest,” “Cold Mountain,” “Election,” “The Wood” and “King of the Hill.”

“We’re always looking to work with strong filmmakers on stories that wrestle with our culture in funny or intense ways,” said Berger and Yerxa, in a statement. “We’re very glad that WIP opened their doors to us and we look forward to collaborating on projects that express a unique vision.” [Eugene Hernandez]
