Lawrence Bender Sings Overture Deal

Overture Films has signed a two-year, first look deal with Lawrence Bender Productions, the company announced today. Bender recently produced the Oscar winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and is well-known for his work with Quentin Tarantino on “Pulp Fiction,” “Reservoir Dogs,” and the “Kill Bill” series. He also produced “Good Will Hunting,” among other films. “Lawrence brings an invaluable pedigree, strong relationships with talent, directors, and writers, and a keen eye for making cost-effective, quality films,” said Overture’s Chris McGurk, in a statement. While Bender said in a statement, “I’ve known both Chris and Danny (Rosett) for years and value their business decisions and creativity. I think we will make a great team together. I wanted to find a home sharing an artistic passion for diverse, eclectic, and even groundbreaking films. It’s nice to be in good company.” [Eugene Hernandez]
