It’s no big secret that Texas film production has suffered in recent years due to a lack of incentives, the kind found freely and often in nearby locales such as Louisiana and New Mexico. There was even recent chatter about the still-unconfirmed second season of NBC’s very-Texas Friday Night Lights, picking up and relocating to another state. Well, the efforts of various organizations and supporters within Texas (most notably, the TXMPA ) have helped the incentives bill receive support from the state’s House. Next up, an approval of the incentives bill will be sought from the state Senate. Fingers crossed… because the fabled Texas film scene really needs this.
