Cannes 2007.1: South by South of France

(The view from my plane, as we land in Nice.)

Arrived in Nice on Wedesday morning after a red-eye from New York. Spent all day trying to recover from horrible jet lag. My flatmates for the festival, Jared and Rich from Sidetrack Films, and I met up to check in to our apartment in Cannes. It’s a great space, in a great location. Had a two-hour nap before some dinner at Gaston de Gastounette. Awesome. Wound up at the Grand for a meeting and then some catching up with the U.S. industry folks in town. Opening night film, Wong Kar-Wai’s My Blueberry Nights, sounds like a major disappointment from those who saw it. Too bad. More soon. Busy times.
