‘Taxidermia’ Getting English DVD Release

'Taxidermia' Getting English DVD Release

I hate to say it, but nothing shocked my world at Cannes this year quite as much as Gyorgi Palfi’s Hungarian gluttony epic, Taxidermia, did at the 2006 event. I’ve only seen the film once, at its premiere at the Debussy a year ago, but its images and execution still sit in my head like it was yesterday. One of the most ambitious films about being a sloth you’ll ever find, Twitch reports that a U.K. DVD of the film will hit stores on August 13. I can’t really say I recommend the film to anyone, but if you’re a brave cinema lover willing to take a chance on some unforgettable (and undeniably talented) filmmaking, you should seek it out. It’s definitely one of my (not-so) guilty pleasures in this last year of movies.
