A Successful Nantucket Film Festival

A Successful Nantucket Film Festival

It was a blizzard of festivals around America this past week/weekend. You had Silverdocs, CineVegas, Seattle, and Nantucket. In some cases (like The Devil Came on Horseback) films and filmmakers attended all four… as exhausting as that may sound. I’ve talked about some of these fests and their results, but I wanted to share a fun little trio of films by friends that wound up very successful at the recently concluded Nantucket event.

Nate Meyer’s impressive debut, Pretty in the Face, won the top feature-film jury prize. Meanwhile, Austin’s own Dan Brown walked away with the same top jury prize in the shorts category, for The Pipe. And yes, The Devil Came on Horseback is number three, as Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg won the main jury prize for the documentary section. Kudos to all!
