Eagle. Shark. Question. Answer.

Eagle. Shark. Question. Answer.

On Friday, Miramax will open Taika Waititi’s Kiwi comedy, Eagle Vs. Shark. This is really one of my personal faves coming out this summer, so do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s funny, charming, and really entertaining. I’ve heard a few folks, who have yet to see it, describe the film as “Oh, that Napoleon Dynamite movie.” That’s a mistake. Besides the international qualities of the film, Eagle Vs. Shark is more than just “Napoleon Dynamite for grown-ups.” For starters, it’s really a love story and a very fine one at that. Anyhow, two interviews conducted during the film’s stop at SXSW 2007 have recently popped online. There’s Stephen Saito’s Q&A with director Waititi and star Loren Horsley for Premiere, and then check out Brian Brooks’ chat with Horsley (as well as one of my favorite SXSW 2007 photos) on indieWIRE.
