Five features and five shorts will screen at the inaugural Gen Art Chicago Film Festival, taking place June 26 – 30 with Alan White‘s “Broken” opening the event. Starring Heather Graham, the film is the story of Hope (Graham), a waitress in Los Angeles who is haunted by her past through seemingly innocuous situations with her customers–stirring up painful memories in the process. The festival will close on Saturday, June 30 with Harris Goldberg‘s “Numb,” a ‘dramedy’ that lightly explores human emotion and ultimately the strength in each of us, starring Matthew Perry. Also on tap is Alan Cumming‘s “Suffering Man’s Charity,” “Crime Fiction” by Will Slocombe and “Bodega” by Brian Billow. For more information, visit the Gen Art website. [Brian Brooks]
