The Mall of America and “The Best Bar in America”

The Mall of America and "The Best Bar in America"

First 24 hours in Minneapolis/St. Paul, where I am one of three on the panel for the annual McKnight Filmmaking Fellowship:

(Bill Kruse, from IFP-Minnesota, welcomes us to the world-famous Mall of America.)

(Yes, there are several amusement park attractions in the mall, including this rollercoaster. And yes, Bill and me and Joe Swanberg went for a ride.)

(Joe Swanberg gets up close and personal with Spider-Man, at the Mall of America. Summer of 2007 began with Spider-Man, and will end with Swanberg. More on that some other time.)

(In need of some footwear, I stopped by the mall’s massive DSW. Joe tried on sunglasses.)

(After a busy afternoon that began the McKnight review process, we stopped by Nye’s Polonaise, which Esquire magazine recently named “The Best Bar in America.”)

(There was some hardcore piano-bar action going on in Nye’s. And yes, you’re invited to sing along.)

Alright, back to work…
