This summer, the Atlanta Film Festival will be administering a screenplay competition–accepting completed scripts in all genres, from shorts to features. The call for entries just opened on withtoutabox.
For a reasonable fee, we offer screenwriters the opportunity to receive full coverage from folks like studio gatekeepers, producers, and the like.
Rather than just bestowing recipients with a cash award, winners will be invited to a retreat in Georgia in fall 2007 to workshop scripts with industry professionals.
We want to see the winning projects grow into something–we don’t want them to end up on a shelf accumulating dust.
It is our hope that this competition will put these projects on the road to production, a process that includes mentoring, revisions, and development.
