Cinecitta burns:

Rome is burning!

“A large fire that began late Thursday and lasted into the early hours of Friday consumed part of Rome’s legendary Cinecitta studios, leaving about 32,000 square feet charred, including the lot where the HBO series “Rome” was filmed.

There were no injuries in the late-night blaze, which reportedly started in an equipment shed adjacent to the former “Rome” set. Dozens of firefighters worked through the night to subdue the flames, which leapt as high as 125 feet, turning at least two buildings into charred rubble.”
