Fortissimo Films has acquired worldwide sales rights outside Germany to “Love Comes Lately” by Jan Schuette from zero fiction film/zero west filmproduktion. The film, based on a series of short stories by Nobel Prize for Literature recipient Isaac Bashevis Singer and shot in English in several US locations including New York and Los Angeles, starts Otto Tausig (“Nocturne Indienne”) and Elizabeth Pena (“Transamerica”) “deals with human longings, both real and imagined, and the never ending dream of love and the power of fiction” according to Fortissimo. The film is slated to screen as a Special Presentation in the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. The deal was brokered between Fortissimo’s co-chairman Wouter Barendrecht and zero fiction’s Martin Hagemann. [Brian Brooks]
