INDUSTRY MOVES | CAA Acquires Steinman From Sloss

Dan Steinman gave notice today, announcing that he is leaving his post as a partner at Sloss Law Office and joining Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as a Film Finance and Sales agent. Based in New York City, Steinman will work on the agency’s expanding film sales and financing business alonside CAA film finance head Rick Hess and agents Roeg Sutherland, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Micah Green (whom he once worked with at Sloss’ Cinetic Media). Green joined CAA two years ago, while talent and literary agent Bart Walker recently left the film division at CAA in NYC to become a partner at Cinetic. During five years working for Sloss, Steinman — a lawyer and Harvard grad — was involved in negotiating Cinetic deals for “We Own The Night,” “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Mad Hot Ballroom,” and “Murderball,” the agency said late Tuesday. “Dan has crafted some of the industry’s most innovative and strategic film sales deals,” praised Hess, in a statement.
