The 2007 Directors Guild of Canada Awards were handed out on Sunday night, handing their top prize to Sarah Polley for her work directing “Away From Her.” Polley became the first female recipient of the award, as well as the youngest. “I am honoured to be a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and share in this evening when we celebrate our own talent,” said Norman Jewison, who presented the award to Polley.
