SF Chronicle: Mill Valley to Fete Ang Lee

Film festivals have consistently boosted “Lust, Caution” director Ang Lee‘s directing career, but the Mill Valley Film Festival has had a special impact because of its early support. “One of the things we are most proud of is that we introduced Ang’s first film, ‘Pushing Hands,’ in 1992,” said Mark Fishkin, festival co-founder and director. “I was so taken when I first saw it that I called immediately to see if we could program it.” Ruthe Stein reports.
