After just an episode, the much hyped CBS musical dramedy, Viva Laughlin, produced by Hugh Jackman, has been cancelled. It will be replaced by reruns of CSI. Maybe in 20 years they’ll try the musical network television series again (at least Cop Rock lasted longer than this), but until then, if it ain’t a cartoon, High School Musical or an isolated episode of Oz or Buffy, don’t air it on TV. Or if you do, try making it good next time? You’d think for a genre experimented with every decade or so, they’d have some better ideas (and they didn’t even make this one up themselves, they stole it from the Brits!).
