Lya’s Going to IDFA

Lya's Going to IDFA

For the first time in three years, I am sitting out the annual International Documentary Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA). It’s a great event, in a great city, but I have to attend to some family stuff during the Thanksgiving hoiday. Instead, SXSW Film Festival Coordinator Lya Guerra will be in Holland to represent. It’s arguably the most important documentary festival in the world, and the lineup looks great this year. Among the SXSW 2007 premieres that are part of this year’s IDFA, are Bill Haney’s The Price of Sugar and Harris Fishman’s Cat Dancers, both award-winners at our fest this March. Should be another fun year.
