Hip-hop fans rejoice! The SXSW Music Festival is locking down some incredible hip-hop shows for this year’s event, and the latest announcement should make for quite a popular and exciting show:
London’s Dizzee Rascal has appeared on stage and on record with artists such as UGK, Chamillionaire and The Grit Boys. His third release, the critically acclaimed Maths and English will be released in the U.S. by the avant-garde hip-hop label, Def Jux.
To celebrate this monumental release, Dizzee will perform alongside his new label CEO El-P and classic West Coast rapper, Del the Funkee Homosapien. In hopes of bringing even more of his London sound to the forefront in America, he’s also bringing along Jammer and The Newham Generals, lauded by UK critics as the next voices to emerge from London’s rapidly developing grime music scene.
