I rather liked HBO’s Recount, the feature-length dramatization of the Florida recount after the 2000 Presidential election. It was taut, entertaining, and full of above-average performances (from, especially, Laura Dern as Katherine Harris and Tom Wilkinson as James Baker). The film also made me physically angry, remembering those frustrating six weeks when the nation went back-and-forth about who would become our next President. Kudos to director Jay Roach for keeping the complicated events simple, but some critics allege that Recount may be too simple. The reactions and reviews have been mixed or split. So, I ask, what did y’all think of the film?
