LAFF in Pictures

LAFF in Pictures

I’m now back from the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival, and it was a great time. Very busy, but really great. I was pulling double-duty: speaking on various panels about Cinetic Rights Management and keeping an eye on all things Trinidad. Somewhere in between, I took a few photos:

(On Saturday night, the crew from LAFF premiere I’ll Come Running, came running to Arsenal for an after-party. Here’s Dina Kuperstock from CAA, who is repping the film, with one of the producers, Anish Savjani.)

(On Sunday, the Austin Film Society hosted a party for the various Austin features screening at LAFF. Working the door at Westwood Brewing Co., here’s Agnes Varnum and Bryan Poyser of AFS.)

(Another filmmaker honored at the Austin Film Society gathering, was Baghead co-writer/director Jay Duplass. He was recently injured on the basketball court.)

(Actor/comedian/filmmaker Jeff Garlin delivered some humorous remarks at the annual LAFF Filmmaker Reception at the W Hotel in Westwood.)

(Also at the Filmmaker Reception on Monday evening, are Bob Hoffman and Christian Zak from the L.A. offices of Technicolor.)

(On Tuesday, the Denver Film Festival hosted a celebration at Napa Valley Grill, for their upcoming Cinemocracy event to coincide with the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Denver Film Festival chief Britta Erickson, left, welcomes indieWIRE editor Eugene Hernandez to the soiree.)

(Also at the Denver FF’s Cinemocracy event: documentary filmmakers Jody Lambert, Sascha Paladino, and AJ Schnack.)
