R.I.P. George Carlin

R.I.P. George Carlin

I’m actually more affected by this news than I imagined. Comedian George Carlin is dead at the age of 71. Carlin was a major staple in my household growing up. I grew up Catholic, and his legendary routines about the church, were a common fixture on any road trip or typical day at home. I was thinking of him today, as we premiered Trinidad, with its dose of Catholic conflict. George Carlin was one of the few people that united my house as I was growing up. We even watched his lackluster sitcom in the 1990s. We even watched his lackluster HBO specials in recent years. He was a great observer, a great commentator, a great figure in the world of political comedy. I’m kinda stunned and very sad. Rest in peace: George Carlin.
