iW NEWS | London Fest Expands Industry Programme

The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival has announced increased services for the industry in this year’s upcoming edition, with additions ranging from international events to UK focused debates and leading talent development projects. These include “UK and India:The Shape of Things to Come,” in association with the UK Film Council, which will explore the implications of the recent UK-India co-production treaty, as well as the panel event “The Risk Business,” in association with ARTE and leading UK broadcasters, which will examine the relationship between European public broadcasters and film production funding, and “Cross Country: Does Regional Production now carry the Baton for British Film?”, which investigates the rise of production across the English regions and home nations. The Festival also welcomes back Film London’s Production Finance Market, the only event of its kind in the UK, which will run October 21-22, 2008. [Peter Knegt]
