Those are just some of the boldfaced names in the house during the after-party for the premiere of the Material Girl’s directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom, on Monday night in New York. The party, held at the brand-new LES Hotel (near Houston and Orchard), was a fun affair. And, the celebrities in attendance mingled freely amongst the common folk like us (with a few amusing exceptions).
Monday’s event, hosted by Dolce & Gabbana, featured a healthy bar and even healthier food options. The LES Hotel (which some of us joked would be overrun by hipsters in a matter of weeks) feels decidedly like an L.A. hotspot, as if the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel had moved near the East Village. Nevertheless, it was prime real estate for a party. Madonna’s film, which I haven’t seen (but has garnered favorable reviews), will open in New York this weekend. And, if you don’t live in Manhattan, it will also be available via IFC’s video-on-demand program to households around the country.
