iW NEWS | "Abu Raed," "Devil" Win At Heartland Fest

The Heartland Film Festival concluded with the 17th annual Crystal Heart Awards Gala in Indianapolis. Awards and $200,000 in cash prizes were presented to 17 films. Among them, “Captain Abu Raed” by Amin Matalqa won the $100,000 Grand Prize Award Winner for Best Dramatic Feature, “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” by Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker won the $25,000 Award for Best Documentary Feature, and “Victoria” by Charles Sommer won the $10,000 Vision Award for Best Short Film. Heartland also recognized the 15 films selected from November 2007 to date as recipients of the Truly Moving Picture Award, including: “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas,” “Enchanted,” “Henry Poole is Here,” “Penelope,” “Under The Same Moon” and “Young@Heart.” For a full list of winners, please visit the festival’s website.
