Maya Entertainment, a vertically integrated, entertainment company targeting the growing U.S. Latino market, announced its plans to develop, produce, and distribute the comedy feature “Hollywood Players,” written by Joaquin Perea who is also slated to direct the film. The film follows two young brothers who inadvertently videotape a suspicious transaction that accidentally gets released on the web. “Joaquin is an incredibly talented writer/director and we couldn’t be more pleased to have an opportunity to collaborate with him on Maya Entertainment’s first in-house production,” said Sandra Avila, development executive at Maya Entertainment, in a statement.
