iW NEWS | Reel Asian Fest Announces Slate

The 2008 Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival will present films from 14 Asian countries, including 14 World Premieres, 4 North American Premieres and 17 Canadian Premieres. Highlights of the programming include Kenneth Bi‘s “The Drummer,” which will open the fest, Michael Kang‘s “West 32nd,” the Centerpiece Presentation, and Satoshi Miki‘s “Adrift in Tokyo,” which will close the fest. Additional announced was a spotlight on Canadian director Paul Wong, “Empty Orchestra,” a karaoke-inspired multimedia project, and an industry series that includes the 2008 “So You Think You Can Pitch?” competition, in which 10 teams of filmmakers competing for over $28,000 in prizes from Charles Street Video.
