A Proper ‘Trainspotting’ Sequel?

A Proper 'Trainspotting' Sequel?

Danny Boyle’s adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting was a jolt of cinematic energy for me in high school. I remember watching that movie five or six times at the Sunrise Mall theater in Brownsville, TX. It’s a brilliant film in every sense. When Welsh published his critically-panned literary sequel, Porno, people started asking if a filmed sequel was in the works. Over at Cinematical, Erik Davis chats with Boyle about the possibilities. It seems more likely today than it did a few years ago. But, is this good news? I’m not sure. Not to mention, I think every piece of the team would have to reunite, and isn’t former Boyle screenwriter John Hodge (who earned an Oscar nod for the original flick) on the outs with the director? Also, has Boyle kissed and made up with Ewan McGregor, who he famously punted from The Beach in favor of Leonardo DiCaprio?
