Three years ago I reported on a film by Michael Almereyda and a parallel art exhibit on the seminal photographer, William Eggleston.
The exhibit at the Cheim & Read in Chelsea featured Eggleston’s fantastic black and white portraits shot during the 1973 film “Stranded in Canton.” I wrote, “They capture the fashions and sensibilities of the era through musicians, bikers, truckers and party girls caught in the moment.”
Now comes some terrific news: Matt Dentler reports in his blog that the film “Stranded in Canton” will have a digital release through his company, Cinetic Rights Management.
