FilmSlam Makes Way for Brouhaha

FilmSlam Makes Way for Brouhaha

It’s almost Thanksgiving and that can mean only one thing when it comes to the local filmmaking scene–the monthly FilmSlams are over and the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase is on the way. This year’s Brouhaha, the 17th edition if you’re counting, takes place Saturday and Sunday, December 6 & 7. Four approximately 85 minute programs composed of works by Florida filmmakers-only will be presented, with showtimes at 11 AM and 1:15 PM each day. A total of 49 films will be screened, including independent submissions, nine FilmSlam Audience Award winners, and curated work from eight different schools including UCF, FSU, Full Sail, Ringling College of Art & Design, Rollins College, UCF Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona, University of Miami, and Dr. Phillips High School. A jury of local industry professionals will be in attendance to select a “Best of Brouhaha” program to move on to the Florida Sidebar in this year’s Florida Film Festival this March.

Details on the lineup should be available soon at http://www.enzian.org/festivals/brouhaha.html So circle your calendars and make plans to come out the first weekend of December and support Florida’s up-and-coming indie filmmakers–it’ll be $5 well-spent and it’s a helluva lot more fun than Christmas shopping.
