The final FilmSlam of 2008 takes place at Enzian this Sunday, November 9, at 1:00 PM. This monthly showcase of local filmmakers features an Audience Award competition with the 1st place winner receiving a spot in December’s Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase (the “GrandSlam”). Participants in Brouhaha–including FilmSlam winners, school curated films, and Brouhaha selection committee selections–will be eligible to be chosen for the “Best of Brouhaha–Emerging Florida Filmmakers” showcase in the 2009 Florida Film Festival this spring.
The November program looks like a good one, with eight films set to unspool including a music video by Wax & Eom (THE ADVENTURES OF LARRY & TINA), an artistic tribute to Andy Warhol (WAR-HOL), an Edgar Allan Poe adaptation (THE TELL-TALE HEART), and an out-of-competition screening of FFF Programming Coordinator Jon Jones’ latest, THE GOLDEN MALLARD. As always, admission is a measly $5, so come on out and support your Central Florida indie talent.
