TLA executives Rich Wolff and Richard Ross have joined forces to launch Rich Releasing, a new North American distribution company that will kick-off early next spring. While its launch slate has yet to be announced, the company plans to release art house, documentary, international, gay and lesbian, erotica, and horror films. Wolff will head the company and Ross will serve as head of sales for Rich Releasing. Joining them at the new company will be TLA’s Alex Jackson as Executive Director of Sales. “Rich Releasing understands that the marketplace is evolving faster than at any period in home entertainment history,” Richard Wolff said in a statement, noting that the company will embrace various distribution platforms, including DVD, VOD, broadcast, mobile, IPTV, Internet placement, and theatrical. Rich will also pursue royalty deals, revenue deals, service deals, and flat deals, along with hybrid pacts. “We’re re-entering an industry we know and love but under the toughest market conditions we can remember…we relish the challenge,” Ross added in a statement. The company is also planning to serve as a producer’s rep for both domestic and international projects. [Eugene Hernandez]
