Am I the only one who thinks Valkyrie looks good?
Give me good ol’ analog battle sequences any day of the week; the non-CGI footage of the planes, jeeps, locations and explosions is a reminder of how thrilling cinema can look when it’s (okay, okay) “real.” Also, thank GOD they aren’t using accents; Either shoot the film in the German language or don’t bother pretending (pet peeve #1 for me!). Who vants to leesun to actours talk like theess? NO ONE. Kudos for making the right choice.
Maybe I am just hungry for old fashioned SFX, or maybe I am interested to see the “why” behind the negative buzz, because that is a solid trailer. Maybe once in a blue moon a studio thinks creatively and not like a studio? Get the movie right first, and if you have to move it to where it will be best served by the marketplace, have at it. A trailer is just a trailer, but as a piece of marketing, well, this one is effective. Sold. Count me in; I think it looks great and can’t wait to see it.
